Hey guys
I'm looking for my first short board after surfing a 8'6 and 7'6 for a good couple months now.
I know it wont be easy to grips with quickly but i want to downsize asap!!
Anyways I was looking at the rusty predator 2, at 6'8 it's not a massive jump down but will still take time to get used to!!
My question is basically is this a good first shortboard baring in mind my inexperience??
Any advice info would be greatly appriciated!!

Its a forgiving board. Full rails, low rocker, extra width.... it should catch waves pretty well from the looks of it.

went from a 7' to similar 6'8" wide, pretty full rails, and love the board still despite all the "character" I've given it. Still use it when the waves are small or a bit on the fat side. could I recommend getting a swallow tail. feels a bit loose at first but I found mine really helped getting my turns right. sort of really forgiving when you get a turn not exactly right.
If you do get this board, resist the urge to surf it until you can get a week of surfing every day lined up. Or at least a few sessions really close together. had a few frustrating sessions when I dropped down until I got a weeks holidays with decent surf for the week. 4 days in I was flying on the new board. Just a bit more consistency was all that I needed. Sticking with the old one till you have the oppurtunity to really get used to the new one just helps to keep the stoke up!
