fin boxes?

is it possible to put fin boxes in after the board has been made. i.e would it be possible to make my twin fin fish into a quad?

Yes, I actually turned a quad into a 5 fin setup because I wanted to try it as a thruster, my shaper only charged me about $50 to drill out and template it. Have it done at a shop tho, needs to be placed professionally or it will be all wrong.

Lastly, the are specifications for size and fin placement, sometimes the quads wont fit if you have a retro with the twins all the way back.
Take it to a surf shop, talk to a shaper about it.

It depends on the type of fin box you intend to use. FCS and euro fin can easily be done as can longboard style boxes. Most of the other require glass reinforcing patches over the boxes so they would not be so neat or easy to do.
