I dont see a reason for traction pads on a fish. Maybe its just me and the way I surf, but my feet will move all over the place when im on my fish. Trying to constrain myself to one spot is hard considering how much I slide forward or back depending on the wave. I mean sometimes Im almost noseriding the thing. Also I tend to use my fish in smaller surf that is less steep, so i tend to drag my feet up/forward on it more then if i was taking off on a steep wave where i would be landing ontop of it more from the steepness of the wave if that makes sense. I use traction pads on my shortboards because its nice to have that lip to duckdive with and pad to really pivot the nose around fast without loosing traction, but for a fish, you dont really surf it like that. Or I dont. That being said, setup your board for whatever works for you, just giving you my opinion on the matter

. I dig the board though, really nice shape, i just question that back thruster box. Somebody must of been smoking something when they decided to try to fit that in there.
