Help info needed- squash fish Island board

Postby elmarcuratodos » Thu Jun 04, 2009 3:48 am

So, i found this board today, but the guy at the shop trying to sell it to me made it almost too good to be true. Its a squash tail, fish epoxy that they suggest you ride way shorter than normal, telling me that I will probably downsize in 6 mos from a 5'10.
ps. I am 5'2 and weigh 110
and he likened it to the one channel islands makes (i think their fish - that has little rocker, but flies in small waves and is good for small people) The one he was selling, i believe is a shop brand but supposedly copies the the CI but was a price tag of 435 instead of 600. He raves about how easy it paddles, how easy it catches waves and couldnt tell me any downsides of it. I surf in Florida alot and lots of east coast smaller waves like New Hampshire...i have surfed in bigger punchy waves in mainland mexico/costa rica and often feel like I cant surf when i come back to florida because i learned in bigger waves at points with push so i have trouble generating speed and sometimes even catching the wave in FL.

Would this be a good small wave board for me to add to my quiver?? is the price good?

i have 6'2" egg (in Mex)
a 6'6 gun (in Mex)
a 5'10 quad fish (thick & kinda heavy)
a 6'2 swallow tail Webber (dk why i bought this...oh, yeah, it was cheap)

Thanks in advance for your wisdom and help on this. :D
