Within a few days I will have to participate in a surfing contest. Its a regional trial and I really want to make the team. I know I'm way out of my league, the others are really good.

Does anyone have expirence to share that will help me? Like how to hassle and always have the inside position, get good scores, ect.

I'm kind of stressing since this is something I really want to achieve. Thanks hey.

Well... I'm no pro surfer, but if you want to be good at anything you have to dedicate yourself. Some pros, surfing is their life, literally. And from what I'm hearing your not really prepared. Maybe you are and you just want to bring your best on the day of the trials or w.e

My advice would be to look for other pros advice, since I can not give you any :).

Theirs some great advice out their if you just look, surfline has a bunch of videos.

Other than that basic success fundamentals-
1.) Understanding- just because you read something doesn't mean you understand it, you have to go out to apply the knowledge and make sense of it yourself. If your your not getting the results you want, your NOT understanding something yet.

2.) Success and Initiative- Get off your a** and do something?

3.) Success and Action- You can read all you want, but if you don't take action you will never get better.

4.) Patience/Persistence- Obviously you will not get the results you want overnight, it takes time, but don't give up!

Hope this helps, somehow :)

I'm no pro surfer, not by any stretch of the imagination, but I'd probably go out on a limb and say that it's probably important to stay somewhat relaxed and not get all tense.
