Hi, I have surfed about 12 times. Meaning I can stay up for about a time that is < 2sec.
Ive got this short board, heres the specs:
H = 74 in.
Windth = 19in.
Thickness = 3.0 in. ( at its greatest thickness)
Im 6.0 ft and 155lbs.
has 3 fins, made of carbon fiber, so can I learn on this? I am heading to sebastion inlet, Fl. and New smyrna beach.
Thanks for your help.

yah, its gona be hard since its a smaller board. but for your weight, the board will def. work for you, it will just take some practice.
maybe it will help to know that i weigh 185 pounds, and i am 5'11'' tall, and my standard shortboard is a 6'1'', 19'', 2 3/8 thick. and i can ride it just fine.

and will I be able to catch the waves in florida ok?
It seems to me-
that you need a long board or fund board to catch the waves that are of medium height of 3 ft.

well it depends what type of 3 foot waves they are. if they are steep fast 3 foot waves then yah it will work for you. however if the waves are slow and mushy then a shortboard like this wont work very well, but you can still ride it, it will just take more effort. so really, it depends what types of waves your riding. if they are small mushy slow waves then yah i would go with a fish shape or a longboard.

sebastian inlet is a decently fast wave if there's swell and it's also VERY crowded. And i wouldn't consider 3 ft. medium size waves...thats considered small, barley shortboardable waves especially for your size and weight. If the waves get a bit bigger say 4ft + and a little punch i would say the board should work for you, anything smaller and it will be tough, but not impossible.

It's a good size for you as a boad, but maybe not as a begginer learner board. I suggest you keep it for next year and buy a used learner beater board so you can start catching wave sooner, then transition to you 6'2" board which is spot on once you get better.
