roughly 3 years of surfing. I try to get out daily if i can. I dont think you can rate yourself as a surfer too much so id say im a confidant surfer been out in everything san diego can throw. Its seems like each winter i get better so something must be going right :-). But to be honest how good is not important its whether you are having fun thats what counts.

About 25 years. Makes me feel very old saying that. I know what scares me, what I won't paddle out in, and what I enjoy, couldn't give a sh1t how good I am compared to other people, it's all about having fun :D

Hi flex,
I started surfing two years ago at age 48. You don't know how much I wished I learned when young. In contrast, I had motorcycles beginning at age 12 and competed in football (soccer) beginning age 16. Now, even as an old guy, the "magic" and skill from many years of experience beginning when young shows through when I engage in these sports. In contrast, learning everything from scratch in an atheletic endeavor, like with surfing, is a slow and non-linear row to hoe. In short, I wish I were you - learning to surf when young!

In short . .5 months and pretty crap.
But one broken board later I'm still smiling every time I catch something.

Only about 3-4 years but I'm not that good.

I can get up and ride across a wave but cant really turn into them or anything like that. I dont get out as much as I should tho, I'm a fair weather surfer

Been going to the beach since before I could walk. Started off body surfing and sponging. Been strictly surfing for 15 or so years now. I think I am a compitent surfer. I paddle out everyday as I live across the street from the water in PB. Don't have any pics of me surfing, been surfing and going to the beach by myself for the past 10 years or something like that.

One year and a half.

I started with and still ride my Flyer for most of the conditions SoCal throws at me. I learned to stand up after two months, consistently stood up after a year, and now I am messing around with my bottom turn and trimming this spring and studying where to enter in on a wave.
