Surfing Waves

Hello All,
Any recomendations on either one of those boards? I´ve read a couple of comments on other forums and they just destroyed them, in part because they are made in Cobra and their construction is said to be pretty bad...If anyone has either of them and could help out, I´m about to buy one of those, but after reading those comments I´m having second thoughts...

my mate gixer has just shaped me one based arounnd the 7s super fish...slightly different tail and a thruster set up.....this is him last friday,,,when i finaly let him have a go

seems like a good set up to me

^^^^^i have a 6'4 afterburner, excellent board. heard about problems with peeling decks but i havent had any problems with mine

i really enjoyed a go on that ian,almost wish it was mine i think im gonna have to have one too.ill see how i get on with this longboard if i dont sell it........

The 7s Superfish's are a lot heavier than the SLX webbers. However with the step deck in the 7's this does mean that they can be ridden a little shorter. I'd probably recommend the Webber. Slightly more proven shapes and the original was obviously shaped by Greg himself. However if you do go with the 7's make sure you get the quad fins in it as your obviously getting a lot more for your money than the basic tri set up. In regards to the quality and the length of time they last I think the 7's might have a thicker glass job so this might protect it a little more.

I have a 6'10 7S Superfish. It was my 1st board actually. It's been "in the shop" twice with dings, a caved in tail from riding it into the sand a couple of times, and I even buckled it to the stringer on one side. So as my learner board I can't say much about the construction being poor or me just sucking and beating it to crap.

I do know that I've bought 3 boards since, (6'6 Anacapa Glider, 8'0 Water Cooled Fun Shape, and 5'10 CI Fishcuit) but I still ride the 7S pretty often. I like the way it paddles for the most part. I'd say go for it personally, I like mine.

I've got a big 7' 5" (i think) 7S super fish and i bloody love it!!!
I chipped the nose pretty easily but apart from that it's been a great board. I definitely got my skill level up a notch by surfing the thing because it worked well in chop so I got lots more time out on the waves.

webber, but if you want more options with the fin setup and a bit more bouyant but dont care about the weight, got for a 7S super fish

I have the 7s superfish, and in my opinion, it's a great board. It turns on a dime, has a lot of drive on crappy waves, and paddles like a much bigger board.

I picked up a 2008 7S Super Fish this past August. The board surfs and paddles great, and it is light. It performs in all conditions, especially with the quad set up.

BUT THE QUALITY IS CRAP. It seems like everytime I take it out I get a new ding. The foam blew out through the rail on mine after a month (I only weigh 155 lbs). I've made two repairs to it and have 5 or 6 other decent sized dings.

Bottom Line - It I was rich and didn't care about money I would be happy to buy it again.

Love the Webber boards - got a 6'4 afterburner poly and 6'6 fatburner slx. have to say they're the favourite boards in my quiver! never had a problem with either, think the material and shaping quality is high. although i found the hard rails extend further on the slx models compared to the poly's... depends what you're after in a board! slx is so much more boyaunt and light although bounces around a bit in choppier conditions - the 'feel' is definitely different to poly. i find both interesting and fun to play with depending on my mood and conditions.

i own the 7S 6'3" fish and rate the performance of this board. however it dosent handle the knocks well. i wld buy this again but in the new expoxy edition. im currently using H2 fins and cldnt believe that by changing the tail H2 to a smaller fin how drastic the change has been. instantly and i mean 'INSTANTLY' improved my surfing. i can cut back harder. smack it off the lip faster and it makes it thru washed out sections better now. its really loosened the board up bigtime! if i lost or broke the board id go for a 6'0" in expoy next time. gr8 for most conditions here on the gold coast. before changing fins i found it hard for this board to hold rail when it got sucky. it honestly holds rail so much better with the fin change. i dont know the sciende behind this but boy what a difference. i weigh 83kg and im 177cm tall 5'11"

Yeah, I've ridden the afterburner and liked it, but I would have the same shape made by a local shaper than buy one that will ding that easily.
