if i cut 4 inches lengthwise and went from 2 5/16 to 2 1/2 maybe?
would i be losing a significant amount of foam?
just wondering

yes but shouldnt be too much of prob - the only thing is if you say had a 6'0 and chopped 4 inchs off for a 5'6 i think that would make a significant impact

same here. recently moved down from 6'4 to 6'0, its a whole different story. much more manuverable when your in the standing up, but a lot harder to make the drop and catch the wave well.

Great thread, I'm actually thinking of my next board

At 43yrs old 200lbs I went from a 6'6" x 19.5 x 2.5 board to a 6'3" x 18.75 x 2.35 and could ride it but did not enjoy it. In smaller waves I actually sunk on turns, and in big waves I could not get in confortably.

I have a 6'3" x 20" x 2.5" half moon tail quad, shaped like the xanadu pig by my shaper. It has boxy hard rails and it actually paddles better than my 6'6"

So, I decided my next board will be 6'2 x 19.5" x 2.5" and I'm gonna ask my shaper for less rocker for easier paddle and to just keep a little extra thickness for my fat arse, but that's where I'm headed, a shortboard that is a little beefier than usual

hahaha i just saved myself the buying of a fresh new board
my ex had a 6'0 i think(could be 5'10)
its an old poly and looks like its been through a war and plenty of gunfights
but it serves the purpose of a thicker board but narrower and shorter
unfortunately it has very little rocker so thats gonna take some getting used to

and the fact all the logos and whatnot is pink..
any suggestions on how to cover up?
