I bought a firewire and sold it after only 3 go-outs, just did not like it.

However, they recently closed their factory and are moving their production to Asia to join the other surfboard mills.

So, take your board to a shop, get it fixed right, sell it and buy something you like better.

I've also seen this happen to a few firewires. Only the early models tho i think.

Be CERTAIN you are using the proper resin for the board.

From your description, it sounds like you might be using a poly resin on exposed epoxy and that's what is causing the 'softness'. I can't say for certain.

Firewire makes a good board. While they may be tougher in some respects, they suffer greatly from heat. EX/PS out gases at around 130F where a poly will go to 150F+ this is a huge difference because the inside of a car can easily get your board hot fast. Most of the delam I've seen from EPS boards was caused by the board getting too hot.

But no matter how well a board is made, if you don't like it, you don't like it.

I think the advice to get it professionally repaired is a very good idea. Most repair guys do excellent work for a bargain of a price.
