Surfing Waves

I posted up here a few days ago and was trying to figure out what kinda board i had. I was able to get some pics up here they are.

If your talking about the tail design, it's a Swallowtail with a Wing:

The wing is really not a tail shape but more of a rail shape. It can be seen as the bump in the rails just in front of the front fins. Don't be confused and think that this is a different tail shape. The tail shown on the left is still a Swallowtail, the board also has a wing.

The Swallowtail, like the baby version, combines the rail drive of the Squaretail and the sensitivity of the Pintail. The Swallowtail is an easy on to spot for the novice! This is the tail shape used on Fish Surfboards. The wider tail gives better paddling power and increased drive in smaller waves

Question is, "What kind of board is this??"

Thank goodness for WaveRiderJ. My response is limited to, "I think it is a surfboard. Don't think it is something like an ironing board, clap board (that's old fashioned house siding), boogie board, wash board, game board, bill board, gypsum board, National Transportation Safety Board, switch board, California Air Resources Board, etc., etc."

Its a sweet looking surfboard. I like it, how does it ride?

It seems to ride well in the smaller surf i had problems with it being shaky in the bigger waves but i am a novice and still learning today i took it out for a few hours and was able to stand a ton of times and actually progressing to where i can turn the board and kinda cut into the wave.... so i guess im getting a better feel for the board

twinnies can be a little iffy in big waves, but those fins look plenty big enough to hold. some of the shakeyness may just be your confidence levels aren't completely high enough in the board, not a bad thing, just need more time on it. first time i rode my quad in stuff bigger than waist high it was like whoaaa, but now it's shredtacular

yeah now that i got some standing time and practice on my board hopefully i can start progressing into more difficult things.... one question while i was surfing today i found i had better control if i put my foot farther out like right under the logo of my board i was able to cut into the wave and still keep standing.... i usually just push up and stand with my two feet pretty close together.... do i want my foot out that far? or closer? or in the mid?

If you put your foot that far forward on that board, it'll briefly feel like you've got more control as you'll move a little quicker. Briefly.
The moment you try and turn you'll dig the nose and rail in. Then you won't be in control.

On that board, you'll need your back foot over the tailpad, and your front foot at about the widest part of the board. And a nice low centre of gravity.

Lol.... i did a few days ago except its already starting to get back to the way it was.... so i usually dont bother...

twin fin swallow tail modern fish (as opposed to a retro) with a double cut tail and not a lot of rocker. Looks like a fun small wave board or good for big mush days, but dont' drop into anything steep or hollow.

If you take a picture of the bottom from the tail forward we can tell you if it's just flat or has some kind of concave.

Guess: 5"11 x 20" x 2 1/2" ?

I have found it to be an amazing board for the small waves over here on the east coast of Florida.... I will try and get a pic up of the bottom soon

I rode a twinzer fish everyday for 3 years. That is a great board to get your surfing to a good enought point to make the jump to a shortboard with ease.
