Intermediate skill level and living in Pensacola for wave type. I have a 9'2" and a 7'9". I am looking for something shorter, but something I can also ride in the type of waves typically encountered in Pensacola.

What are the pros and cons of this board. The board is epoxy and is a 6'4". I am 5'11" and weigh 164. Thank you.

umm, i don't really know pensacola's waves, but i'm guessing typical right coast small-ish mushburgers until a storm comes then it has potential to be epic, world class? from what i found it's a retro fish quad. i have one (retro quad, not the exact board you're looking at) and for the smaller, mushier days it's great. even when it gets big, but still on-shore, it's brilliant. it's fast, so you can sprint through flats or around closing out sections you didn't float (me). very maneuverable, and easy to turn. floats you well. my biggest problem with it so far is landing with my back foot too far back on the board, right over the swallow tail and my back foot sliding off resulting in a sometimes painful and always awkward split where the front foot is planted on the board as it goes with the wave and the back foot falls into the water. it's a fun alternative for a longboard, but for those really small summer days, i'd rather have a log. probably gonna get one in the spring for that

I have an 8' WRV and a 7' fish that I've been riding for the past couple years and i just bought an Al Merrick 6'4 tuf-lite (which is epoxy) I weigh 200 lbs. and it's a great board, has a lot of bouyancy, it will definitely float ya, I've only had a chance to ride it for one good swell, but that's all gonna change this weekend, get one, man, you'll like it, and having one gives you the option to pull 'er out on a good shoulder to head-high day and rip, I hear a lot of people saying epoxy boards don't flex, but i didn't see that much difference! Hope this helps. Good luck with your decision!
