I'm looking for a shortboard but don't know what size to get. I have a 7'6" funboard that i've been using for about a year. I want something more manuverable but still somewhat easy to transition to.

Any help on what types/size/dimensions to look for in a new shortboard?

BTW, I'm about 6 feet, 180 lbs.

thanks

I've gotten pretty used to the 7'6" and have some really good days with it and then some average days. But overall have become pretty consistent with the 7'6" as far as catching and riding most waves that I paddle into.

well you could try borrow / rent something short to give you an idea of what its like but at a guess id say something like a 6'4 - 6'6 as an entry level . Talking to a shaper is a good idea.

Not eactly great waves in OB at the minute :( still fall is coming

I wouldn't go too short yet. No shorter than 6ft4 and even at that length make sure you get a board with some extra volume in it. But i would say maybe 6ft6.
