Hey guys, i was planning on adding a hybrid shortboard to my quiver. something like an anacapa tri fish, or becker booster for the summer waves in san diego. im just not sure what the best length for me would be. I was thinking around 5'8 and could i get away with a 5'10"?. Im 5'6" 130 lbs, and fit (i lift/run/swim etc). Any help is appreciated, thanks!

go chat to a shaper there are plenty of excellent ones in san diego. Otherwise its down to what you have already in your quiver as to what you may want/need

hybrid??? i think the board you are talking about is a semi-fish... a hybrid is a pretty much a cross between between a minimal and a shortboard...

I had one as my first board...

Er... a hybrid is surely any cross between one type of board and another? I'd call what he described as a hybrid fish.

And a cross between a shortboard and mini-mal is a funboard????

what the heck, they're all boards.
