hey guys, im new around this forum and i was wondering if anyone heard of Nezzy Shapes. i just got it off of ebay and it came in the mail today.
its a 7 footer. the main reason why im posting this is because the fin holders on the left and right, and pressured in a little bit and its cracking the surface a little it. i was wondering if i should get this fixed.
thanks guys.

if the crack is big enough to left water in, get it repaired. Water getting into the crack will be sucked into the polyurethane like a sponge. After enough water damage, the foam will separate from the fibreglass layer (becomes delaminated). Once this begins to happen the board starts to lose strength and surfability. If left long enough it will completely destroy the board.
It may be that the cracks are just stress fractures - there is a lot of force going through the fins so this is not uncommon. Get someone who knows what they're doing to have a look at it, it's probably nothing to worry about, but better to be safe than sorry.
If you can post a picture of the fins area, people here can give their view.

Looking at your pictures and having fitted many of those types of fins (lokbox) those boxes need to be removed and re-fitted correctly. It looks like the glass hasn't been laid over them correctly in the first instance and hence hasn't provided enough of a bond to the box and that is why they have been able to be pushed into the foam in the way that they have.
There are a couple of ways to fit futures and lokbox fins, one is to do it before glassing and one is to do it after glassing. (Which i think is easier)
Either way you have to tape up the slot so no resin will get in. Then you lay the glass right over the box and slot. Not upto the slot as it appears yours are as this will not give enough strength as you need as much glass to box contact as possible.
Then you grind/sand the glass off down to the lip on the slot giving you a smooth finish.
Hope tis helps some.

Did they also glass fibre over it as well else it will just break again just as soon as it gets touched as resin by itself has no strength.
