Surfing Waves

ok im so confused about the dimensions for my weight and height.
im 5"10 180 lbs. and pretty stocky.
i wanna try and go for a 5"10 and something thin??

Hi, i'm by no means an expert on this sort of thing as I've only recently moved down to shortboard and wasn't sure if mine was the right sort of size, but depending on your ability, 5'10" seems a little short based on your weight, especially as you want to go for a thinner board.

5'10" fish would probably be ok, as the width would give you the extra volume. if you wanted a thruster setup, maybe more like 6'2" would be ideal. If you've got a local shaper go and speak to him/her.

Other forum users have a lot more experience than me on these sort of things so might be able to add/improve on my comments. Hope you find what you're looking for

sounds pretty small. if you can already surf maybe try something 6'4 and above with plenty of width and thickness but depends how long you've surfed for?
