i still own the bic i learned on, still take out during the summer when its small
theres nothing wrong with bics man, no better board to learn on. they only get bad press cuz they're viewed as a beginner board but everyone has to start somewhere

I had one as a 'first short board', took it to Portugal coz I was worried about the way they get lobbed about in the airport. Had a great time on it! Took some knocks as well! Also when I sold it I got almost what I paid for it back! Can't really go wrong with them while you're learning.

its ok for learnin...but as i advanced it slowed me down, i didnt really beleive everyone but it is true. it was great to advance on, but ull prob be lookin at a new board in a year or so, even then it will still hold its value, and is very durable, so go for it.

when i think of 'bic' boards i think of the bic pens and razors. they seem to be good but there are much better options (or they are good at first but then you find that using something better makes a huge difference)

bic razors, you'd be better off shaving with a butter knife
