i stood up like last week or so.. but this week,.. i went and i couldnt really stand up right.. my board kept sinking in... the waves that day were about 1 feet.. according to surf forcast at surfline.... is it because of the wave size or is it just me

Probably the wave size meant that your board was travelling too slowly to plane properly. So it sunk.

Depending on your board, and the wave, you might be able to keep it going on a 1ft wave... you'd need to keep in the breaking pocket (such as it is) or be riding a looooooongboard.

In a nutshell, it was probably too small.

probly too small yes. if you're riding shorty you need a fairly punchy 1ft wave to even think about getting going. and even then its difficult.

i would say speed is the problem; if you want to tackle 1ft waves you gotta look for the wave that'll break at the right time for you and paddle extra hard... maybe move your paddling position two or three inches forward.
