Hey I'm considering buying a new shorter board. i currently ride a 6'8" tuflite Flyer and i think it is too big for me now that i am better. I am 5'10" and 130 Lbs. I am not amazing but im not terrible either. the board i am currently looking at is 6' x 19 1/4" x 2 1/4' shaped my McCrystal. is this board a good idea? what kind of waves will it need for me to be able to catch them.

Personally i'd go 6ft 2 but eberything else seems to be in order. What tail and bottom contours you thinking of having?

Yeah... Id have to aggree here.
You may consider just a little more length. You are fairly light at only 130lb, so a thinner board is something to consider also. As you go thinner you can put more rail into the water and turn harder, also your board is lighter.
6'2 sounds good.
6'8 down to 6' is a big step and if your only running 1 board, you also dont want to go too small for when the swell is up.
