I heard that same quote before. I leave a little space inbetween the back wax spot and the front. Only abot 6 inches, but this allows me to stand up,and have my foot "slip" into position in back. That way my front foot is hardley ever too far forward on the drop, and turn. And the fron I wax to just past my chest, and also do the rails for grip wjile ducking and getting up.
