anyways, el_timmo, why are you so keen to stick up for these pro surfers? what have they done for you?
yes, i shall take that into consideration next time i am reading something, but i'm not reading your post again, i know what it says, obviously i just misinterpreted (SP?) it.
hmmm... maybe I'm just not making my point clear.... but anyway what have pro surfers done for us? well if there weren't a pro circuit, the innovations in the sport wouldn't exist today for example. If there wasn't pro competition, many new moves wouldn't have been invented. If there was no pros around, surfing wouldn't get as big as it is today, shapers would make less money, and therefore charge more for your boards. If there weren't a pro circuit, surfing would not be covered as much as it is in the press, and many inlanders would never have the idea to give it a go, and therefore many people wouldn't be enjoying the waves.
The downside is that the beaches get overcrowded, but then that's why we have winter!
