Yeah he is a pretty good shaper from Newquay, loads of hot locals ride Adams boards apparently.
I just bought one myself on Sunday, never really heard much about them before I saw them in the shop (Surfers Paradise in Newquay). I was looking at getting a DHD or Chilli but then I saw the Adams boards and my mate who lives in Newquay and rips said the Adams boards are really good - not much in it between the makes really as long as you get the right size and shape for you.
I was looking for a nice all round board in 6'2" length to go between my 6'0" and 6'5" and ended up with a 6'2" X 18 1/2" X 2 1/4" squashtail, just tried it out today in average conditions in Norfolk (2-3ft mush with the odd wall) and only really got 2 solid rides but with the new FCS M5s I really got a couple of mental turns in - one backhand and one frontside, and so far I'm not dissapointed.
I was about to go for a DHD of similar dimensions with Rip Curl graphics that I thought was £375 like the rest of the DHDs but then the shop guy said it was a Fanning model so it was £425 just because of the graphics! I thought bollox to that and went for the Adams at £345.

...well to be honest I took hours to decide!
The Adams I got was slightly lighter than the similar DHD with a hint less width in the nose and maybe slightly thinner rails. Really reminded me of a Maurice Cole I used to have and really liked until I broke it.
Anyway to go back to your Q about who is Matt Adams - I really don't know much except the above and decided to take a gamble. I'm pretty happy tho, but I would like to reiterate that I think it is far more important to get the right size and shape than the right shaper. e.g. I really wanted to get a Chilli but the only boards they had were the wrong shape so I had to rule them out or I would have had a really good board for Indo and then wandering why its not working well in North Sea mush!
