Hak Surfboards

Postby surfboardbaz » Wed Dec 22, 2004 7:58 am

I have a Hak shortboard which I bought brand new off eBay. It's my first board so don't really know much about them. It seems fine though. It floats and catches waves! I struggle with it cos I'm a beginer but one of my mates has used it and he said it was really fast.
All I can say is that the service provided when buying it was great. It arrived within 48hrs, was well packed. I think he runs his business purely online from a garage or something? There are always brand new boards on eBay. He sells shortboards, fishes, mals and minimals and they're all far cheaper than in the shops. I'd buy from him again.
Hope that helps a bit????

Thanks a lot for the reply 'baz. My bro bought one recently off ebay from them to, so i was just wondering if anyone before hand has had one. He's really happy with it, star service aswel! So i guess weve now both got the right opinion of the owner! Apparently theres only 80 in the country!

Thanks again

Hak Surfboard

Postby suze » Mon Sep 19, 2005 8:06 am

My mate bought a HAK surfboard off ebay too, but she had awful hassle from your man getting it... probably cos she lives in Northern Ireland and he didn't recognise that as part of the UK... it was resolved (when he realised NI is part of the UK) and he was fairly decent after that.

That aside, the board is so fragile. The glassing is really thin - it cracked in the bag, in two places, before it was even on the water (from being tied to a roofrack, not from being dropped or anything like that). I've been out on it a couple of times and it seems okay, but its the only 6'2" board i've surfed, so i can't compare the ride it gives to another 6'2". Its not a board i'd expect to last more than a couple of months - you expect to snap each time you take it out - so HAK is a make i definitely wouldn't buy, even if they are cheap.

HAK Surfboards

Postby surfermunkee » Wed Mar 08, 2006 5:25 pm

Anyone out there looking to get into surfing? I have bought 3 HAK Surfboards now all different sizes, and have been absolutely thrilled with them, am due to buy another for the summer. The artwork hasn't always been to my taste but I am a surfer, and I bought a board to surf. I have seen one guy complaining that the board doesn't surf well, dude boards don't surf by themselves, get some lessons or change your hobby don't blame the tool. Check them on ebay. I also saw an articale in Ireland's 'Freeflow' extreme sports magazine when I was there on business with a great write up, I think it was in the Pink Issue October 2005??
