what would a balsa shortboard go for? would really love to find one. a fish would do.

Lots of different options with wood boards, get some ideas of what you want.

Grain surfboards look decent, haven't actually laid hands on one.

You could always shape your own, if you have the tools and the knowledge.

And a cheaper alternative, which is just as good (some think better) is paulowina, which you can grow a tree to harvest in about 3 years.

I'll be planting one in the spring. I'll probably grow attached to the tree and end up not harvesting it, but whatever. They are very pretty, and grow like weeds around here.
