Hey all! I was just wondering if anyone has surfed at Coldingham Bay?? cos when I went there was a sandbar and apperently no one had ever seen the waves as bad as they were.

Thanks!! xXx

Haven't surfed it yet, but seen some nice size waves coming in a few times.

The last month and a half its been like a mill pond, so unbelievably flat, it picked up yesterday to around 2 2.5ft and thats the biggest its been in ages.

Still had my first surf at Pease Bay and was pretty decent for the size.

It's meant to go flat again for the next week.

Hey there,

I pretty much go to Coldingham once every week (with the light fading now it's dark by the time I would get there after work (2 hrs from Glasgow!! damn!))

I'ts been really flat this summer apart from a few days but it's starting to get going now (check out the recent pictures on magicseaweed.com). The waves are breaking really close in at the mo but I reckon that's due to the flat summer building up all the sand? I only started surfing last November and was going regularly throughout the winter and if you go then I dont think you'll be disappointed (just bring a 5mm suit with boots, gloves and possibly a hood!!

After the surf pop into St Vedas Hotel for defrosting! Great place and Steve who runs it is an all round good guy. There's a bar and a shop for any hire, wax etc etc.

Take care
