friends board

Postby Beachbum » Tue Sep 05, 2006 6:30 am

I recently went surfing on my 7"4 and I tried out my friends 6"2. I was able to pop up but when I tried angling down the side it felt wobbly and unstable. I want to start shortboarding and I was wondering if I should or continue on my 7"4.

I have a 6"6 which had a ding repair on the side and is kind of old "yellowish color". I was thinking if I should sand down that ding and try to use it again?

sure if you feel you are ready tackle the 6.6

Im dropping down to either a 6.10 or a 6.6 from a 7.4 like you but i wont do it for a while i gave my mates 6.6 a go and it felt fine just a little awkward to begin with but i doubt the tranition should be that hard.

a 6.6 is more stable. I made the transition form a 7.3 (rental) to a 6.6
I only surfed 2 weeks before buying it so it took me a whole session to be able to pop up and stay on 100% of the time but if you can pop up on a 6.2 6.6 would be fine!
