I agree wid dondiemand a fish is harder to maneuver than a shortboard, but if u can get the hang of a fish a shortboard should b easier to handle. Due to the fact that a fish has more width turns would b a bit more difficult. Some frens of mine use fishs' for the bigger waves and shortboards for smaller swells. U'll b turning like ah pro makin 360's and 180's like nothing on a shortboard. So try d fish, yes it would b difficult b it's worth it after u get on a shortboard.

being in england lightness can count in your favour means you can rip on those more than regular 2 foot days. Based on your weight go with a shortboard that has a narrow tail or a rounded pin 6 - 6'4 in lenght and about 18.8. No afence but look at the boards the profesional women surfers use because at the moment your foot size and weight is compared almost to them. Dont worry you dont need to paint pink flowers on it just use the shape as a guid.
