EPS waterlog/ Delam ???

Hi everyone,

I bought my first ever EPS board in November- Lost pk 5'10 and have been really happy with it so far. A couple sessions ago I noticed I had small crack in the nose that I patched up with FCS repair putty and it seems to be holding nicely so far, but I'm not sure if the board had taken on water while I was still out. I also noticed a strange discoloration on the underside of the rails, it looks like it could be waterlogged but so far I haven't seen any cracks that the water could have come in through. Has anyone had any similar experiences? What should I do?
(Picture of the discoloration attached) The change in color is not really very visible on the photo but it's definitely noticeable to irl- sort of a light grey color.

I can't see any problems there. If the board took on water, it would be localised around the damage, and you can dry it out easily before you repair it. It won't soak up water through the whole board like a sponge.

I think some of the glass might have been scraped off on the rails so maybe that's where the water came in. I'll leave it out in the sun tomorrow and then repair it. I read on a few older threads that EPS was notorious for soaking up water but on the lost website it says it's a "fused cell" blank so it should be ok.

Cool I have heard of closed cell foam. That is like Styrofoam. It does not soak up water at all but in shaping you may remove some of walls of the cells covering the blank so it would only absorb just that little bit on the surface. Regular EPS foam allows water to travel through it with gravity.

I check for leaks by sucking on the damaged area, if you can't suck in then it's water tight, if you can then you need to fix it. EPS needs a few days to let the water out, most of the problems happen when you keep using your board with a ding...
