Which board to get?

Postby nov » Tue Oct 19, 2010 5:13 pm

I was wondering if any body had any tips as to what size board I should pick up as im looking for another short board. Im 6'3 and about 185 pounds and currently im riding a flyer II with the dimensions 6'8 X 19.5 X 2 5/8ths.
I sold off my old fun-board and while I enjoy this board, on some of the smaller days I feel like I could use something thats easier to paddle and catch waves on.Im about an beginning/intermediate level surfer, any recommendations in terms of size or type of shortboard/fish?

Get a Biscuit or Pod maybe like 3-4" smaller :)

They have great float and perfect for small waves, and even rode one in head height :D, though I'm 5'2" so head height is a bit deceiving at my height haha

But yea I've rode mine in 1-2ft before as well, and anything under that I wouldn't surf anyway, so don't know how small your ones can be...

I highly recommend these boards for fun days where a shorty just wont cut it :) you up your wave catch and rides, whilst other people struggle on a shortboard :P

Yeah, a nice disc is next. I'm 200lbs and my go to shortboard is a 6'5 thumb tail, but my mushy and small and all around board is a 6'1 disc. Mine is 6'1 x 2.5 x 20 3/4 , though I also like 2 5/8 for easier paddle.
