im 5'8 and ride a 6'0 performance quad and i wiegh 125 lbs
i used to ride a 7'0 and could get on the line real good
but i cant even seem to stand on my new shortboard
any tips

The board is too small perhaps?

well everytime i try to stand i either fall of the back of the wave or sink into it

boards too small go back to the 7 footer for a while

stop cutting a foot away and maybe try 6'6'' then 6'3'' and so on

Could be board too small or your outta position on the wave. Try taking off deeper

boards too small for the wave size / conditions and your experience level.
