Gregg Clough short board

Postby hlandells1 » Sun Sep 05, 2021 11:06 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm a relatively inexperienced surfer and came into possession of this shortboard years ago but have not even tried to use it because I've never tried with anything except a fairly floatable longboard before!
I wanted to ask your opinions regarding whether this is such an unusual board that it would be a shame to let go of it, or whether it is worth selling, given it is quite a good make (I think should be worth around £150? Please correct me if I'm wrong...) and using the money to get a board I can surf on now at my current standard...

If any advice (or potential punters!) please don't hesitate to respond/message me!

Thank you!

Hattie

£150 equals to about $207 usd. Maybe a board with FCS or Futures fins you might get $150. But for a board that's 25 - 30 years old and with glassed on fins, maybe .......... $75.
( My shop wouldn't even keep it on consignment, as the glassed on fins take up too much space in the racks )

That’s helpful, thank you.
I wasn’t sure if it was an item considered worth collecting / of interest as I understood gregg Clough was an important designer and it is signed by him / numbered.

Well then I got a PC you might be interested in, although it runs on Windows Vista.

"All" shapers sign their boards ( and sometimes they do it after their ghost shaper does their part ). What might be cool is to contact Gregg ( or his shaping factory ) with the serial number. He/they can then tell you exactly when it was made.
