Vintage 1985 Caster Board

Hi there,

I have a Caster board for sale, I'll be honest we were aware of the value until the family heavily researched and the following is the information we have which has come from Bird, Bill Casters business partner. We are listing this on Ebay and wondering if anyone has any idea of what they would pay for it at all, this will allow us to let the family know a rough estimate.

This is what we received:

So this board came out of my first surf shop called Windansea Beach an’ Surf that Bill Caster and Ernie Higgins were all a part of.

At this late stage in Bill’s life he was dying a slow death from Cancer. He was working out of his house.

He had sold his factory which became Diamond Glassing.

The Team Bird logo Only went on very selective boards custom built boards for friends and family. The Bird logo has been my personal mark from the seventies and I still occasionally use it today.

Judging by the various logos on the board and the name I believe it would have been built for David Anderson who was a red hot young local surfer in La Jolla. Tragically he passed away at a very young age in a skin diving accident.

The removable third fin is from a company named Freestyle and believe it or not they were out of Texas and have long since gone out of business.

The swallow tail and channels in the bottom of the board were hard work add on’s to the shape for talented surfers.

This is a collectors item and one of a kind & will be listed elsewhere also.

The board is located in South East England, We would consider shipping at the cost of the buyer but we are looking to just find an estimate and find out if these are collectible at all?
