Hey all, I'm new to the forum.
I have the opportunity to get hold of a good plot of land in East Indo south of Kupang. Some of you may know the area.
Looking at a long term lease of 100 years and I believe that building a good market garden/ bungalow set up with a cafe will do exceptionally well here. A handful of AU$25k investments would get this done. Exit strategy is to sell land which is increasing at 25% per annum.

I am going to advise anyone interested to pursue this with due diligence.

Really real check out the legal Pros and Cons of Leasing and being Part of a lease in Indonesia.

Some costs to consider added to buying is the cost of getting Western style household items freighted to the area and the rubber time involved with the shipment arriving I have several friends at this break and they talk of the issues in that.
Note too that several of the children of Former Presidents of Indonesia are chasing to develop there, a potential competition factor. Potential for korrupt practices against developments they do not like.

Owen I really suggest you be fully clear on this as I have had a number of Aussie Friends seriously financially burnt!
