Prototyp Shortboards for sale

CERES International is a conservation organisation based in Portugal. For our board building course (http://www.ceresinternational.org/index ... ng&lang=en) we work together with leading composite material manufactureres (Sigmatex, Oxeon and Seabase) to develop the ultimate surfboard construction. Criteria are Performance (the board has to have better flex, weight and feel than the current benchmark; a competition laminated PU board) Strength (the boards should be virtually unbreakable and keep the flex for many years) and Sustainability (the materials used should have less environmental impact than standard polyester / PU).
We have two favourite shortboard shapes that get copied and produced in in different technologies for testing purposes. 5´10 x 19 1/2 x 2 3/8: a board for small waves, similar shape to the Lost Rocket and a step-up `normal´ short board in 6´5 x 19 x 2 5/8. We weight the finished board, test the flex and give it to test riders for an evaluation session.
The boards we have sale now are virtually new (used once). The boards are shaped from a special EPS blank, laminated with the very best UV stable Resin Research epoxy resin, Innegra S / Spread Tow carbon reinforcements and 4oz Hexcel glass and have F3 (Future and FCS compatible) fin boxes. The boards fit all the above criteria perfectly (light, perfect flex, strong, look stunning) but are far too expensive to produce for a commercial product. The search goes on…
