Selling my t4 van as i`m going back to the darkside of aircooled!
This is a great van in lovely condition all kitted out and ready to go. Its lowered on nice subtle alloys and the interior has been kitted out for a daily drive/watersports/camping. I use this as my daily van and is extremely reliable.
I recently drove to the south of france and back with no issues and it camped 2 of us comfortably with the van packed for 2 weeks including 2 surfboards, 4 kitesurf kites, 2 kiteboards, wetsuit gear and all clothes and camping gear aswell! Loads of room aswell.
Exterior
The paint is a really cool shade of sky blue and to be honest i haven`t seen many other vans in this colour.
The suspension is lowered slightly (but not silly) and rides really well.
It has been fitted with subtle alloys which really suit the van.
There have been 4 new tyres fitted less 1000 miles ago with the camber and tracking set too.
The van has tinted rear windows and one tinted window professionally fitted in the sliding door.
A sunroof has been fitted in the rear of the roof which is also tinted.
Engine
The engine is the 2.5TDi 102bhp and has done 178K
It was fitted with a new genuine vw turbo about 8000 miles ago and pulls really well with no smoke.
It loses no water or oil and was fitted with a new cambelt and water pump about 15K miles ago.
It has always been serviced and there is plenty of history to go with it.
Cruise control is fitted and operated by the standard lever and switch on the steering wheel.
I think i get about 37mpg on average out of it.
Interior
All the doors have central locking operated by the key fob which also activates the alarm and immobiliser. The drivers door central locking swithc is faulty so has been disconnected.
The floor has been fitted with a waterproof lining - very helpful when you`re getting changed out of wetsuits!
A Eberspacher heater has been fitted which works really well and warms the van up very toasty within a few mins.
There are cupboards for plenty of storage and all this folds down into a bed with the specially made sofa cushions providing a very comfy matress.
There is a leisure battery fitted which provideds electricity for spot lights in the custom headliner and various power points round the interior of the van. A cooly box is fitted behind the drivers seat which is removable and a 2 hob stove cupboard also is fitted here which is fully removable via connection points on the floor.
A new headlining has been fitted which really brightens up the van and it has 6 spot lights mounted operated by a couple of switches on the wall.
A great stereo system has been fitted which powers 2 large speakers in the rear and a bass amp too - sorry, don`t know the technical terms but the sound is fantastic!
Bad Points
There is a scratch on the sliding door which goes to the primer but not metal.
Below this, there is a small dent along one sill at the rear which doesn`t affect the function of the door and no paint has come off here - it was done before i owned the van and so i have never seen fit to sort it out.
The bonnet has a small dent in it and some stone chipping
There are a couple of small rust spots on the roof - i think maybe ladders were mounted on here at one time when it was still a commercial van and have marked the paint - nothing major though.
There are a couple of small holes cut in the side of the dash which have never bothered me either.
There is a scratch across the front of the front bumper.
All in all, the van is in great condition, with the odd scratch/very small dent. It looks really excellent and not customised in an over the top way. Its ready to go and i use it as my everyday vehicle for commuting to work, kitesurfing, camping, etc. As i said, the only reason i`m selling is because i have a hankering to go back to an early bay window van (i may regret this!).
MOT and tax run until March 2010
