Volkswagen Transporter 1.9Tdi Long wheelbase with tailgate (white)
1996 ‘R reg’ with full service history 153,000 miles
Fitted with CD Player and extra speakers
Front has 2 single seats with hawaiian covers as well as a twin seat which could be fitted in the front or in the rear.
The rear is curtained off, and is converted with a large storage box, surfboard rack and a sofa/bed. (all done by a carpenter)
The van is ply lined, carpeted throughout and insulated behind that, so nice and cozy to sleep in.
Van is lowered by 50mm front and rear and sits beautifully on 18inch alloy wheels (which I have to admit are a bit scuffed)
Van is due a service and MOT in the next couple of months, so if anyone buys it, these bits will be done before collection.
When we bought the van 18months ago, it came from a VW main dealer, and so got loads of attention. We also got a 3 month warranty, which was handy when the engine failed! The great thing is though that we got a brand new engine through VW! So although the van has done 153,000 miles, the engine has only done 20,000.
Van also has new brake discs and pads on the rear in the last 10,000 miles and isn’t due new pads on the front for a good while.
Van will also come with it’s original wheels which currently have on “winter tyres” which have only done about 4000 miles and another set of tyres which came with the van (lots of tread, but I’ve got no idea how many miles they’ve done), there are also the original springs if anyone wants to de-lower it.

Sorry this is a bit of an essay, but I wanted to be as honest as possible, as I know how hard it is to find a good car/van. The van looks a little tatty from the outside but nothing that couldn’t be sorted in a weekend, there is no major rust, and more importantly mechanically is in great shape. I’ve got lots of photos if anyone wants to see them, please just email, and obviously if anyone wants to come see it, that’d be great too. (We’re based just outside Southampton)
